| Victorian tiles are part of Britains heritage and were originally used to ornament medieval churches and monasteries. Their popularity was enhanced in the 1830s and became a hallmark of the new romantic movement.
The designs are hand painted in layers with a combination of under glaze stains and glazes before a final glaze coating is applied. The number of hand processes together with the faithfulness of the production gives each tile a unique life of its own and a variation in colour.
There are three basic forms of tile:
Plain tiles with all straight edges;
Single curved edge Tiles for leading edges;
Corner tiles with 2 curved edges.
All three types are available in all the colours within our range. Please note that colours shown here are for illustrative purposes only and that actual colours may vary.
